Evergreen Plot
Evergreen plot is a mimic of forest type observed in Southern and North Eastern part of India. These forests contain tree species of great commercial significance such as Indian rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia), malabar kino (Pterocarpus marsupium), Teak (Tectona grandis) and Indian laurel (Terminalia crenulata). These lush forests are reserve of genetic diversity, providing habitats to 350 species of mammals, 2100 kinds of birds (both local and migratory), nearly 350 species of reptile and countless insects. This plot has more than 328 plant species which includes plants like, Artocarpus heterophyllus, Duabanga grandiflora, Tetramalous nudiflora, Hopea ponga etc.
